    Finnmark Designs Frequently Asked Questions

Finnmark FD-1, FD-2 and FD-3 models are designed primarily for full-spectrum infrared sauna sessions. Trinity hybrid models add a traditional electric sauna heater with stones and integrated red-light therapy, giving you the flexibility to choose infrared heat, traditional sauna bathing or compatible functions based on the model and manufacturer instructions.

The FD-2 is our most popular Finnmark model and a strong starting point for many homes. It comfortably accommodates two people, offers more room for solo sessions than a compact one-person cabin and operates on a standard 120V, 15A household outlet. Choose the FD-1 if space is limited, the FD-3 if you want a larger shared infrared cabin, or a Trinity model if you also want traditional sauna heat.

Only Finnmark Trinity models equipped with a traditional sauna heater and sauna stones are designed for water-on-stones bathing. Never pour water onto infrared heaters, infrared panels or electrical controls. Always follow the sauna and traditional heater manuals when adding water to the stones.

Electrical requirements depend on the model. The FD-1 and FD-2 are designed for standard 120V, 15A household connections, while larger models such as the FD-3 require 240V service. Trinity models can have separate electrical requirements for their infrared and traditional heating systems. Review the exact product specifications and consult a qualified electrician when a dedicated circuit or 240V connection is required.

Finnmark offers several capacities. The FD-1 is designed for one person, the FD-2 and FD-4 Trinity seat two, and larger models such as the FD-3 and FD-5 Trinity XL are intended for shared sessions. Always compare the interior and exterior dimensions—not only the advertised capacity—to make sure the sauna fits both your users and your available space.
