So, there is no insulation in the walls or ceiling?
No, the Dundalk Georgian Cabin Sauna with changeroom does not include added insulation layers. It is crafted from thick (1.5"), solid Eastern White Cedar, which provides excellent natural thermal insulation. This traditional construction method relies on the wood's inherent good thermal mass, allowing it to store and radiate heat effectively for an authentic sauna experience. Additionally, the wood construction allows the sauna to breathe and dry naturally after use, which is crucial for longevity.
Hello, I'm going on vacation for 2 weeks next month and I will not be able to receive the delivery during that period of time - will it be possible to coordinate the delivery date to accommodate that?
Certainly! Please let us know your preferred dates for delivery, and we'll do our best to coordinate a suitable timeframe that aligns with your schedule. You can contact our customer service team at info@solacihome.com to discuss and finalize the details.
At time 23:45, in the YouTube video: “Georgian Cabin Sauna with Changeroom Assembly Video”, the narrator says to, "Place the first ridge cap over the peak. Ensure it is tucked under the rear trim piece and secure with self-sealing roofing screws into every other Ridge only do two rows for now." Is the "first" ridge cap the "unmarked" ridge cap? It's not clear looking at the video which is being installed first.
Thank you for reaching out! Yes, the first ridge cap is the unmarked cap. In effect the two caps are overlapping so, you don’t want the rubber seal to be on the roof cap section that is overlapping the first ridge cap. Put another way, put the ridge cap that has the rubber seal on both sides down on the roof first. Then take the ridge cap that has the rubber tape short from the end by 25” down on top of the first ridge cap.
Is it ok to apply a stain to the exterior wood to prevent it from fading. If it’s ok, do you sale or recommend any particular brand or type?
Care and Maintenance of Your Dundalk LeisureCraft Sauna
To preserve the natural color of your Dundalk LeisureCraft Sauna, you may consider applying a stain to the exterior wood. Over time, the wood will weather naturally due to sun and rain, changing to a weathered grey color. This natural process does not harm the wood or affect the sauna’s performance. If you prefer to maintain its original appearance, there are various cedar stains available. We recommend doing your own research and seeking referrals to find the best option.
Important Note: Never treat the interior of the sauna, and avoid applying paint or varnish to the exterior. Paint, while sometimes required by Homeowners Associations (HOAs), is not ideal as it does not expand and contract with the wood.
Water sealers and stains can be found at Home Depot, Lowes, local hardware stores, or paint stores. Additionally, Dundalk LeisureCraft now supplies stains that can be added to your purchase and delivered with your sauna. For more details and images of the stains available, please refer to the "Choose Your Protective Oil & Wood Stain" tab above.
