For Simple Sauna Sizing, please follow the link HUUM - Sizing Your Heater. Choose the heater with power adequate to the cubage of the sauna room.  However, for non-insulated walls (brick, glass block, glass, concrete, etc.) a more powerful heater is needed. Add 1,2 m³ to the cubage of the steam room per each square meter of uninsulated wall. For example, a 10 m³ sauna room with a glass door corresponds to the power requirement of a 11.5 m³ sauna room.

Sauna Stones 

Required for Operation. Sold Separately.

The HUUM round sauna stones of Olivine diabase are durable and their thermal capacity is high. It’s recommended to use round sauna stones in HUUM sauna heaters as they complement the design of the heaters and provide milder steam.

You regulate the heat and steam of the sauna by throwing water on the sauna rocks. The shape, size and composition of the stones, and their placement in the heater make all the difference. We recommend round sauna rocks because they provide milder steam. The round shape ensures that the water reaches inner stones and evaporates gradually instead of vaporizing in one go from the top layer. Sauna rocks are highly visible in HUUM sauna heaters, and you’ll need smaller and larger stones for filling the heater evenly without noticeable gaps. We suggest stacking a denser top layer with slightly smaller stones. This enhances the accumulation of heat.

• HUUM HIVE HEAT 12 sauna stove requires approximately: 198lbs sauna stones with a diameter of 2-4 in (5-10 cm). 6 boxes x 33lbs (15kg)

Protective Bedding

Optional.

The Protective Bedding, or Thermal Plate, of HIVE Heat is a protective accessory that increases safety when the sauna stove is placed on a floor made of wood or other combustible materials. It is also recommended in case of water underfloor heating system piping in the floor below the sauna stove. The thermal plate protects the floor and the piping.

Reflector Panel

Optional.

The reflector is an optional accessory that reflects back the heat that emanates from the heater and allows to reduce the safety distances from the walls by half. The reflector is made of stainless steel, and it is attached to the wires of the heater. It is also possible to connect several reflectors to each other for obtaining a larger surface.

• Place the reflector hooks simultaneously on the heater wires in a way that the reflector’s top hooks fall over the upper wire and lower hooks go around to their closest wire. Congrats - You are done!
• Can be connected together. If you want to connect a reflector to another one, place the outer sides of the reflectors facing each other, and fix them together with bolts and nuts at the top and bottom.

Stone Cage

Optional.

The stone cage is an accessory that serves both practical an aesthetic functions. It is mounted on top of the stove around the flue and filled with up to 88lbs of sauna stones. It allows to store the heat coming the pipe and thanks to the added stones, the surface for pouring water significantly increases, and that means less hot metal surfaces, that we wish to keep minimal in the sauna. The stone cage filled with sauna stones is also a decorative element matching the sauna heater and concealing the chimney pipe that emerges from the sauna furnace. Stone cages can be installed on top of each other.

Water/Heat Exchanger

Optional.

The heat exchanger (water jacket) allows to heats water when the HIVE sauna stove is in use. The heat exchanger is made of 0.2 in (4 mm) steel and coated with heat-resistant paint. The heat exchanger is hidden on one of the sauna stoves' sides (back side or a lateral side). The heat exchanger has ¾″ male pipes for connecting the heat exchanger to the water tank.

Embedding Flange

Optional.

The embedding flange of the HIVE sauna stove is useful when you are planning to install your HIVE heater partly inside the sauna bench. It is made of stainless steel and it covers up the rugged wooden cut rims around the heater, leaving a beautiful, refined and smooth final result.

• As a design option, HIVE sauna stove can be embedded into a sauna bench.
  
• Use the embedding flange of the HIVE sauna stove to cover the cut rims of the opening.
• For HIVE 13kW sauna stove: inner diameter 18.3 in (46.5 cm), outer diameter 24.6 in (62.5 cm )
  
• When the heater is embedded, at least 13.8 in (350 mm) of the heater should protrude from the sauna bench surface.
